Entrance Control launches EasyGate Compact entrance control gate in Australia and New Zealand

Entrance Control has launched a new entrance control gate, the EasyGate Compact swing speedgate, in Australia and New Zealand.

The company said the product uses new sensor technology designed to detect movement across a wider field of view and at greater distance than traditional point-to-point infrared beams used in many entrance control lanes.

Entrance Control general manager Michael Bystram said most gates on the market “use traditional point-to-point infrared beams, which can only detect movement once a person enters an entrance control gate lane.”

According to the company, the EasyGate Compact’s Sensira Scope sensors send out pulses of energy and detect when an object is struck, enabling time-of-flight measurements and real-time 3D mapping of surroundings. It said this approach allows movement to be detected earlier as a person approaches the gate, reducing the need for long entrance lanes and enabling a smaller installation footprint.

Bystram said the change “has big implications for building and lobby design because long lanes are no longer needed,” adding it means “the physical footprint of this gate [is]reduced considerably.”

Entrance Control said the pedestals are 290mm long, and the product is available in brushed stainless steel or with a custom powder-coated finish. The company positioned it for new builds and for upgrades where space constraints make longer-lane gates less practical.

It said the EasyGate Compact includes LED entry guidance and sensors intended to detect climb-over attempts. Entrance Control also said Sensira Scope is available in two versions: a standard model and an “AI-enhanced” Sensira Scope Ultra variant aimed at more accurately detecting tailgating, side-by-side entry attempts and wrong-direction movement.

The company said the gates can integrate with building management systems and can be fitted with glass wing barriers between 990mm and 1,800mm high depending on security requirements.
