ImageDeep has launched Houndlight, a solar-powered, 4G-connected alarm camera designed for remote sites without mains power or broadband.
The company says the all-in-one unit runs AI detection on the device and can automatically activate a light beacon, siren and voice warning when it detects people or vehicles. The stated aim is to provide rapid-deploy deterrence for locations such as mining and quarry sites, plant and equipment yards, farms, grain stores, pipelines, and renewable energy sites.
ImageDeep argues that theft and trespass at these locations can go undetected until the next day, and that conventional CCTV typically requires power and network connectivity, while staffed guarding can be difficult to justify for sites that are unattended overnight or used for short-term operations.
According to the company, multiple Houndlight units can be armed, disarmed and grouped into zones via its Scopis AI platform, allowing operators to manage several cameras across large or multi-location sites without physically visiting each unit, and to view device status centrally.
ImageDeep listed features including solar and battery operation, 4G connectivity, on-device AI detection day and night, automatic audible and visual warnings, and phone alerts. It also said optional human-verified monitoring is available through its 24-hour operators.
“Most site theft happens where there is no power, no internet and nobody watching,” said Niall Dorr, founder of ImageDeep. “Houndlight brings the AI we built for large contractors to any remote farm, yard, well pad, quarry or energy site. It sees the intruder, warns them off and tells you. You can put it up in an afternoon. With Scopis AI you can also group and control many units across a wide area from one place.”
ImageDeep said Houndlight is available in Canada, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia and Australia, and that it is recruiting distribution partners. The company also said its AI is used on sites for contractors including Gammon Construction and PERI Group.
