D2N Technology Solutions has been appointed Australian distributor for CEDAR Audio, an audio restoration and dialogue noise suppression vendor used in broadcast, post-production and forensic audio work.

The distribution agreement is intended to provide local access to CEDAR products and support, including demonstrations, training and integration services, according to the companies.

D2N Technology Solutions, founded in 2005, said it designs, integrates and supports audio, communications and RF technology for broadcast and production, motorsport, sport, government, defence and industrial sectors.

CEDAR Audio said its tools are used in film and television, live broadcast, recording and mastering, archives and location production, and that it has received industry awards for its technologies.

Jason Owen, managing director of D2N Technology Solutions, said the relationship began when CEDAR Audio approached D2N about representing the brand in Australia. “We quickly realised our two companies are like two peas in a pod.”

Paul Alexander, head of sales for CEDAR Audio, said the company had been assessing the Australian market and was looking for a partner to represent the brand locally. “I was researching companies in Australia and it quickly became clear that D2N and CEDAR Audio were a great fit,” he said.

Under the agreement, D2N will distribute CEDAR products including the CEDAR DNS2, DNS4 and DNS8 dialogue noise suppression systems, the CEDAR Icons plug-in range, and the CEDAR Cambridge and CEDAR Trinity systems aimed at forensic and audio surveillance applications.

The appointment is relevant to broadcasters, production teams and investigative users because access to in-country technical support can affect deployment timelines and the ability to use specialist tools effectively, particularly in a geographically dispersed market such as Australia.
