Axis Communications says it will launch its AXIS D2124-VE Radar at the Security Exhibition and Conference 2026, being held at ICC Sydney from September 2 to 4.
The company said the device is designed for 360-degree coverage and uses AI-based object classification for area protection in “all weather and light conditions”. Axis said the radar can detect humans up to 140 metres away and covers an area of 40,000 square metres.

“Traditionally, securing massive areas required complex, multi-sensor deployments that left critical gaps and burdened security teams with constant manual verification. With AXIS D2124-VE Radar, we are introducing a solution that combines comprehensive 360-degree area coverage with AI-powered object classification to deliver exceptional detection accuracy. By installing this radar with our AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera, organisations can achieve automated visual verification without manual oversight, reducing unnecessary responses and keeping perimeters truly secure,” Lindman said.
Axis said the AXIS D2124-VE Radar includes box-shaped detection and recognition zones intended to simplify coverage planning. The company said it is built on its ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip and can be paired with the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera, using AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ, to enable “double-knock” verification where radar and video must both confirm detections before an alarm is sent.
According to Axis, the device also includes four integrated dynamic LED strips that can be used for deterrence, warnings or notifications, or switched off for discreet monitoring.
Axis listed key features including a human recognition zone of 40,000 square metres, box-shaped surveillance zones, and support for AI-powered video classification as part of its radar autotracking capability.
The company said the radar has an average power draw of 14.8 W across the detection area and is designed to support off-grid and mobile surveillance trailer installations. Axis said the unit supports Power over Ethernet, with PoE out able to power the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera using an Axis high PoE 120 W midspan.
Axis said the radar is designed for mounting on poles, mobile surveillance trailers or rooftops, and includes radar image stabilisation to improve detection accuracy when subject to vibrations.
