ABLOY has expanded its CUMULUS keyless access management system to support doors, adding a new cylinder range that allows users to open doors with a mobile device instead of a physical key.
The company said CUMULUS previously supported keyless access for applications including padlocks and key safes, and that the addition of door cylinders brings more access points under a single remotely managed system.
ABLOY said the system combines credential technology, a mobile application and battery-powered locking devices. It also records access events, device status and environmental data in the system, which the company said is intended to improve traceability and help protect access rights from unauthorised changes or misuse.
The cylinder range is designed to work with ASSA ABLOY Access or partner software, and ABLOY said it can be used for retrofit upgrades that leverage existing ABLOY locking systems.
ABLOY positioned the expanded CUMULUS range for professional environments, including outdoor sites and other locations where the company said reliable operation may be required even with limited network connectivity.
