A new market report from Polaris Market Research forecasts global spending on industrial control systems (ICS) security will grow from USD 21.84 billion in 2025 to USD 43.77 billion by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.03% from 2026 to 2034.

ICS security refers to cybersecurity controls designed to protect operational technology environments, including SCADA systems, distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used across sectors such as energy, water, transport and manufacturing. The report argues that long-standing separation between industrial systems and corporate IT networks is shrinking due to cloud adoption, remote monitoring and the industrial internet of things (IIoT), increasing exposure to cyber threats.

Polaris attributes demand to a combination of regulatory pressure on critical infrastructure operators and rising cyberattack volume and sophistication targeting industrial environments. It also notes that older industrial assets were not designed with cybersecurity as a requirement, making retrofits a continuing challenge.

In its market breakdown, the report says “security solutions” accounted for 69.8% of 2025 revenue, describing these as covering areas such as intrusion detection, network monitoring and threat intelligence. It also forecasts encryption will grow at an 8.5% CAGR, and states that network security represented USD 8.68 billion in 2025 revenue.

Regionally, Polaris reports North America held a 38.0% revenue share in 2025, while Asia Pacific is projected to be the fastest-growing region through 2034, at a stated CAGR of 9.3%.

The report also outlines a vendor landscape spanning OT-focused and IT-oriented suppliers, naming companies including Nozomi Networks, Darktrace, Microsoft, IBM, Cisco Systems, Fortinet, Kaspersky, Check Point, Honeywell, ABB Group and BAE Systems. It cites Claroty’s April 2026 xDome expansion and Honeywell’s 2025 collaboration with Nutanix as recent examples of industry activity.
