Milestone Systems has announced XProtect 2026 R1 and a set of Spring 2026 enhancements for its Arcules VSaaS platform, with updates focused on security operations, system management and cloud deployment options.

“XProtect 2026 R1 and the latest Arcules enhancements reflect two priorities central to where Milestone is headed: advancing our core platform to deliver greater operational intelligence and accelerating our cloud capabilities to give customers more flexible, scalable options for deploying and managing video security,” said Andy Burnett, Chief Technology Officer, Milestone Systems. “These updates create tangible value for everyone in the ecosystem, from operators in the field to the partners and decision-makers who depend on clear insight into system performance.”

A central change in XProtect 2026 R1 is an expansion of XProtect Remote Manager, a browser-based management tool available to Milestone Care Plus customers. Milestone says the update adds customisable, scheduled reporting designed to turn system health, performance, maintenance and inventory data into visual reports for different audiences.

The company positioned the feature as a way to reduce time spent compiling technical information for reporting in multi-site environments. Milestone said the reporting is intended to support system administrators, decision-makers, resellers and service providers, and end-customers with more consistent visibility into system status and performance.

Other XProtect 2026 R1 updates include a redesigned LogServer interface intended to improve log visibility, filtering and notifications; a “What’s New” archive in the Mobile Client to review previously released updates; and Device Pack 14.1, which Milestone said expands verified compatibility to more than 16,300 devices, adding 181 devices from 15 partners since the previous release.

On the cloud side, Milestone said Arcules has expanded camera-to-cloud support to Axis multi-sensor cameras and to supported i-PRO cameras, aiming to allow direct cloud management without additional on-premises hardware. The company also announced long-term cloud video storage, intended to support extended retention and reduce reliance on physical storage infrastructure while keeping archived video searchable.

Additional Arcules enhancements cited by Milestone include a WebSocket-based PTZ API for most ONVIF-connected cameras to support faster real-time PTZ control in workflows and third-party integrations, and mobile alert thumbnails for iOS to provide visual context with push notifications.
