MS Tech says it has completed multiple deliveries and installations of its EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN and THREATSCAN explosives and narcotics detection systems at critical infrastructure sites across the United States and Southeast Asia.

The company said the systems will be used for primary and secondary screening of visitors, suppliers, employees, vehicles and mail at locations including oil refineries, large-scale research centres and other critical infrastructure sites.

MS Tech said demand for advanced explosives trace detection systems is being driven by “growing security challenges” and rising requirements to protect critical infrastructure, including in oil and gas refineries and multinational high-security facilities.

“These latest deployments reflect the growing demand for reliable, high-performance explosives detection technologies at critical infrastructure sites,” said Doron Shalom, CEO of MS Tech. “Our HF-QCM sensor technologies enable customers to strengthen security screening while improving operational efficiency. We are also seeing increasing interest in replacing legacy radioactive detection systems with our non-radioactive explosive trace detection solutions.”

MS Tech said its portfolio includes EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, LIQUISCAN, MULTISCAN and THREATSCAN. It said the EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, MULTISCAN and THREATSCAN systems are designed to detect explosive and narcotics traces and vapours, while LIQUISCAN is a liquid explosives detector.

According to the company, the products use High-Frequency Quartz Crystal Microbalance (HF-QCM) nanotechnology sensors developed and manufactured by MS Tech. It said the sensors are non-radioactive and that the systems include self-calibrating and self-cleaning capabilities.

MS Tech said the systems are intended for use in aviation and transport security, high-threat facilities and infrastructure, military, customs and border control, mail inspection and cargo screening, and that they are designed to operate across a range of temperatures and environmental conditions including dust and humidity.
