Echodyne has released an Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) plugin for its metamaterials electronically scanned array (MESA) radar platform, aiming to let users configure, control and view radar data inside the ATAK environment.
The company said the integration is designed for military, public safety and security operations that rely on the broader Team Awareness Kit (TAK) ecosystem for shared situational awareness.
According to the release, the plugin extends radar management and visualisation to ATAK users, providing access to radar data and system controls through the ATAK interface. It also integrates radar data into existing TAK workflows, which Echodyne said could streamline deployment, reduce operator workload and improve access to real-time situational awareness.
TAK is a government-developed geospatial platform used across US military, federal, state and local government organisations, as well as by US partner nations. Echodyne cited the US Army TAK Product Center as saying the TAK ecosystem supports 15 Department of Defense programs and more than 250,000 users across military and civilian communities.

Echodyne said the ATAK plugin is included as part of its Software & Support package and is available through the Echodyne Customer Portal.
