Hong Kong conglomerate Nan Fung Group has introduced a HID-enabled employee badge in Apple Wallet for employees and tenants of its flagship 32-storey building in Kai Tak. It is one of the first HID-powdered employee badge implementations in Apple Wallet within Asia’s commercial real estate industry.
The badge digitalisation will allow office tenants and their employees to securely add their employee badge to Apple Wallet and tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock office doors, turnstiles, elevators, key card-protected amenity spaces, and copy machines. Unlike physical cards, there is no waiting time to secure building credentials and access for new employees.
With Express Mode, employees don’t need to unlock their device to use their badge in Apple Wallet. If an iPhone needs to be charged, employees can still use their device to access their office or amenity areas with Power Reserve. Badges in Apple Wallet are stored on personal devices and take full advantage of the privacy and security built into iPhone and Apple Watch.
