Genetec has introduced new investigation capabilities in its Security Center SaaS platform aimed at improving incident response across large, multi-site and multi-vendor environments.
The update enhances the platform’s existing search functionality with AI-powered natural language search, enabling investigators to query video using descriptive terms such as timeframes, clothing details or vehicle characteristics. Searches can be conducted across multiple sites and supported camera brands within a single interface.
New timeline preview tools allow operators to review key segments and narrow time ranges without loading full video recordings. Additional capabilities include similarity detection, entry and exit tracking, trajectory analysis and contextual filtering to help trace people, vehicles or objects across scenes.
Evidence can be consolidated into structured case files, with video clips, images and related materials organised chronologically. AI-assisted summaries are available to support reporting and documentation.
The features will begin rolling out to Security Center SaaS users from February 2026, with further functionality planned in subsequent updates. Genetec says the enhancements are designed to reduce investigation time in complex enterprise deployments.
