VIVOTEK has launched its new Chroma24 low-light full-colour AI camera series, promising clear, true-colour video around the clock without the need for infrared or white-light illumination.
Designed for environments where lighting is limited or undesirable, the Chroma24 range combines upgraded lenses and image sensors with AI-enhanced imaging to deliver stable, full-colour footage in extremely low-light conditions. By removing the need for supplemental lighting, the cameras provide discreet night-time monitoring while reducing power consumption and minimising impact on surrounding people and environments.
VIVOTEK said the Chroma24 series is aimed at sites requiring continuous security coverage, including critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, warehouses, energy storage sites, solar farms, campuses, parks and large outdoor areas. The ability to capture accurate colour detail at night allows faster identification of people, vehicles and objects compared with traditional black-and-white night footage.
At night, the cameras suppress image noise, motion blur and ghosting in dynamic scenes, while Wide Dynamic Range (WDR Pro) technology balances bright and dark areas within the same frame. When combined with AI-powered Deep Search, operators can quickly locate footage based on colour, person or vehicle attributes across day and night recordings, reducing investigation time and reliance on manual review.
The Chroma24 range integrates with VIVOTEK’s VORTEX cloud platform, supporting hybrid cloud deployments with real-time video access, event management and remote patrol capabilities. VORTEX’s generative “Think Search” feature allows users to search for specific people or events using text queries, streamlining footage retrieval across multiple cameras.
According to VIVOTEK, the cameras are part of a broader focus on three technology pillars: 24/7 clear imaging, edge AI analytics and energy-efficient design. Diro Fanchiang, director of product planning at VIVOTEK, said the approach reflects growing demand for intelligent security systems that improve operational efficiency while supporting long-term sustainability.
The Chroma24 series is initially being released in mid-range dome camera models, with additional form factors planned to expand the range and address a wider set of security applications.
