Milestone Systems has unveiled the latest updates to its XProtect 2025 R3 video management software (VMS) and Arcules cloud platform, introducing new features designed to accelerate investigations, improve security operations, and simplify system management.
The enhancements respond to the evolving challenges faced by security professionals, making surveillance systems more intelligent, accessible, and easier to manage while retaining Milestone’s open-platform flexibility.
XProtect: Proactive Monitoring and Streamlined Management
The updated XProtect Remote Manager adds comprehensive monitoring capabilities, allowing security teams to oversee system health and address issues before they affect operations. Administrators can now detect and resolve critical problems—such as full databases or server health issues—without visiting sites. Event-based notifications and customizable email alerts keep teams informed of status changes across cameras, servers, devices, and components, enabling faster response times.
Video permissions control and role-based access control for integrated systems allow granular management of camera feeds and access control units, reducing unauthorized access risk while unifying security management under a single interface.
Arcules: Faster Investigations and Cloud Flexibility
The Arcules platform introduces Multi-Camera Forensic Video Search, enabling analysis across multiple cameras simultaneously. This feature helps security teams reconstruct events with multi-angle perspectives, particularly useful for campuses, emergency response, and traffic monitoring.
Enhanced Dual-Layer Motion Detection combines Arcules analytics with on-camera detection to reduce missed events, while Extended Camera-to-Cloud Compatibility supports devices with limited memory, broadening deployment options. External Case Sharing allows secure, time-limited access to video evidence for law enforcement and third-party investigators without requiring an Arcules account.
