IDIS has introduced two new additions to its Edge AI Plus camera range — the 8MP LightMaster IR PTZ (DC-S6883WRA) and the 6MP LightMaster IR PTZ (DC-S6683WRA). The South Korean manufacturer said the new models expand the capabilities of its AI-driven surveillance line by integrating enhanced analytics and automation features aimed at improving real-time monitoring and operational efficiency.
Both cameras are designed to deliver wide-area coverage and accurate object detection through built-in edge-based artificial intelligence. They feature a 40x optical zoom, electronic image stabilisation, and AI auto-tracking that allows operators to follow subjects such as people and vehicles across multiple camera views. The analytics can classify objects by attributes including gender, age, clothing accessories, vehicle type, and colour.
The devices use IDIS’s in-house-developed Deep Learning Engine, IDLA Pro, to enable new analytical functions such as crowd detection, abandoned or removed object alerts, and fall detection. The company said these features are designed to enhance safety, support faster response times, and improve situational awareness in environments such as transport hubs, industrial facilities, and public spaces.
Constructed for outdoor use, both cameras include a heater, infrared illumination with a range of up to 400 metres, and vandal- and weather-resistant housings rated to IP66 and NEMA Type 4X standards. The models are intended for deployment in settings such as energy production sites, manufacturing plants, schools, traffic monitoring networks, and large retail areas where reliable surveillance is required under varied or harsh conditions.
Jun-Kyung Sung, Head of Product Planning at IDIS, said the new PTZ cameras are intended to provide users with more flexible options for AI-supported perimeter and area surveillance. He noted that the cameras were developed to offer consistent image quality and accurate alerts in challenging environments, building on the company’s approach to edge-based video analytics.
